With the rapid development of network communication,an access network has achieved unprecedented development due to the increasing demand for broadband services by users. The gigabit passive optical network(GPON)technology has become a research hotspot of modern communication technology due to its high bandwidth, wide coverage and good service characteristics. The construction of fiber to the home(FTTH)access network based on GPON technology has achieved rapid development in our country. The goal of this thesis is to study FTTH line design of GPON.Firstly, beginning with introducing PON technology,a detailed description of the structure, the working principle and the types of passive optical network(PON)technology are given. In particular, the character and the key technology of PON technology are focused.Secondly, this thesis introduces the relevant theory of FTTH that includes the deployment of device and the planning of optical distribution network(ODN).Lastly, our theory is applied to practice, this thesis takes the FTTH line design of residential community as an example to study the realization process of FTTH construction.According to the project background and construction requirements,a design plan that includes PON port, coverage types, splitting methods, units and cable deployment are proposed. Also,a test on the line after the construction is completed. In order to meet the needs of construction, this scheme increases the bandwidth by reducing the splitting ratio and plans the project with the splitting ratio of 1:32.Compared with the usual scheme that uses a 1:64 splitting ratio, this scheme has the advantage of significantly improving access bandwidth and reducing loss under the premise of having a little impact on cost.At present,it is a better effective way to increase bandwidth by reducing the GPON splitting ratio.
