With the development of social economy, various fields more and more high to the requirement of security, the demand for identity authentication technology increasingly urgent. Biometric identification technology is the inherent physical and behavioral traits of the human body as an authentication information has been widely concerned and broadly applied, by using the method of signal processing technology and pattern recognition technology to identify personal identity. At present in the field of biometric authentication, since Iris recognition has universality, uniqueness, stability, non-contact and not easily forged advantage, is paid attention to the attention of people and day by day. Iris recognition technology can be applied to customs, bank, prison, and many other fields.This paper expounds the characteristics of the iris, the principles and methods of the iris recognition, from the iris image preprocessing(The contents are iris localization, image normalized, image enhancement) to iris image feature extraction and Feature matching, iris recognition algorithm is discussed successively. Again on the basis of the iris recognition technology, this paper proposes a TMS320DM642chip as the core processor of the iris entrance guard system, and completes the system of hardware platform. In addition this paper expounds the main hardware of the system function module design, and the transplantation of the iris recognition algorithm optimization, etc.The system can realize the iris image acquisition and iris image preprocessing, then feature extraction, coding identification, at last according to the result of recognition control door lock actuator motion. The system take full advantage of the TMS320DM642chip of the powerful on-chip resources, fully considering the system’s software and hardware coordination design. By optimizing the program, so the system is convenient and reliable in practical application.
