Along with the progress of technology, the people pay more attention to the biometric recognition technology. The iris recognition is a new biometrics recognition technology. It can reach the precision veracity. The high veracity of iris recognition is the special feature in numerous biometrics recognition technologies, It is paid attention to by more and more domestic and international relevant researchers because of high veracity and good economic benefits of iris recognition. It can not only be used in secret places,but also in the airport, bank, finance, police, entry and exit ports, security, network, e-business. The developments of iris collection device and embedded iris recognition system have the same important effect as the iris recognition algorithm. The realization and optimization of iris recognition algorithm based on DM642 hardware platform are discussed and has very high practical value and realistic significance.At first, the paper designed a cheap collection device for iris image. The device consists of a cheap black and white CCD camera, infrared leds. The system took advantage of the infrared light source to solve the lighting problem so that pictures sampled were clearer The iris image in the CCD camera is very clear so that the demand of iris recognition is satisfied.The second, the paper introduces a system based on device of iris image, TMS320DM642 EVM and PC. Complete iris image sampled, image saved, transmission and recognition algorithm validated on this device system .This lays a foundation for the next step.At last ,the paper introduces programme exploitation of image sampled based on TMS320DM642. DSP/BIOS is a simple real time. Procedure is different from development DSP oftradition, the developer does not need to control DSP completely, operation relevant to the hardware all can draw support from the chip that DSP/BIOS provides supporting a warehouse to be completed. Consumer's application is built above DSP/BIOS basis. This article finished the instauration of project, configuration of CDB files, communications between DSP and PC and achieved the driver of capturing and displaying of video.
