Wireless sensor networks’(WSN) generation and rapid development are oweto the advancement of micro-electro-eechanism system, modern network, wireless communication, sensor and other technologies. Since the sensor nodeshave small size, limited battery power, numerous number, distribution anddeployment of a wide area of complex regional environment and othercharacteristics, which makes how to make efficient use of limited energy tomaximize network lifetime being the primary challenge in wireless sensornetworks. Because of its broad application scenarios, in military applications, environmental monitoring and forecasting systems, medical care, intelligenthome furnishing, etc. have been widely used. So researching and designingenergy efficient, rapid convergence, scalability, robustness wireless sensornetworks protocol becomes especially important. In this paper, low energyadaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH) has been studied, for its shortcomings,we propose a new routing algorithm. The main main contents are as follows:Firstly, according to the research background, the significance of theresearch of wireless sensor networks are discussed, the reserch status andapplication scenarios of wireless sensor networks is also studied.Secondly, the wireless sensor networks routing protocols are outlined, inaccording with topology control the routing protocol is divied into: flat routingand hierarchical routing. Then explain the scene of several typical routingprotocol works and applications, we mainly introduce LEACH protcol, which isthe theoretical foundation of our papers.Again, this paper analyzes the principle of LEACH, analyzes itsshortcomings. Aimed to energy consumption for its uneven and premature deathnode problem, a cluster head election algorithm based on the loction ande the residual energy of nodes is proposed, in the communication phase, finding themaximum residual energy node in the current cluster to do data fusion work. Finally, experimental verfication and analysis through NS-2networksimulator software. Survival time from the network, the base station receives thedata, the energy comusmption in thres areas were compared, the simulationresults show that the improved protocol can porlong the survival time of thenetwork, reduce the mount of base station received data, reduce the energyconsumption of nodes.
