In the military, agriculture, environmental monitoring, industry,Wireless sensornetwork(WSN) has a wide range of applications of space and a great prospects fordevelopment. The energy of WSN node is supplied by batteries.The limited energy is animportant factor affecting network performance.Therefore, the design of moreenergy-efficient WSN routing protocol, extending the lifetime of the network,improving network performance,has become a majorhottest focus of research.The LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) is one of typicalhierarchical routing protocol in WSN.Since itsdisadvantage that electing cluster headtoo concentrated in distribution and the clusters too many.In this paper,it isimproved,a new routing protocol algorithm LEACH-EG based on geography andresidual energy is proposed. Fisrt,determine the optimal number of clusters heads, allthe residual energy nodes higher than average energy compose a collection ofquasi-cluster heads,the high residual energy nodes campaign as cluster heads,accordingtobinary treealgorithm and location to Base Station,every cluster headform a multi-hopdata transmission path direction to the BS, and then other nodes add to the binarytreedata transfer datas.In this way,it is reduced possibilitythat the low energy and edgenodes campaign as cluster head, multi-hop data transmission contribute to savingenergy and the stability of data transmission. From the theoretical analysis, theimproved rooting algorithm can reduce the enengy consumption effectively,prolong thelifetime of WSN.From the simulation of NS2software,LEACH,the improved LEACH and avariety of routing protocols were applied in NS2,were analyzed and compared,theimproved algorithm LEACH-EG have the obvious superiority than other routingprotocols,it can reduce the energy consumption efficiently,ensure the network loadbalancing,prolong the time of the first node death,and prolong the lifetime of WSN.Finally,applying the improved LEACH-EG algorithm on the design of the hardware platform,in the experiment,the improved algorithm shows that it can reducethe energy consumption of WSN and the stability of data transmission.
