Wireless Sensor network (WSN), which is made by the convergence of sensor, nested computation, networks and wireless communication technologies, is a novel technology about acquiring and processing information. It can be defined as an autonomous, ad hoc system consisting of a collective of networked sensor nodes designed to intercommunicate via wireless radio. Typically, these nodes coordinate to perform a common task. WSN takes on widespread application foreground and becomes a new research area of modern corresponds technology. Both academia and industries are very interested in it.Designing routing protocol of WSN is the main part of this dissertation. The numbers of sensor node in WSN are numerous and single node is extraordinarily limited in resource. The all-important aim of designing routing protocol of WSN is to reduce the overall energy dissipated in the network and to maximize the network lifetime. And sensor networks also face serious security problem. Although energy efficient and security in routing protocol of WSN has been studied extensively, there is little previous research considering energy efficient and security together. The author analyzed some routing protocols and the techniques to reduce energy consumption, then assimilated excellence idea among them and chose LEACH protocol as the research target. The improvement to LEACH protocol can be listed as three design proposals:1) A detailed safe solution point to LEACH protocol. 2) Design an energy-efficient and secure data aggregation algorithm for LEACH protocol or other cluster-based routing protocols. Through simulation results, it was proved that the improved algorithm was successful, and can make apparent performance improvement compared to former LEACH when redundant data in WSN is high. 3) A node's lifetime considered multi-hop routing algorithm (LTCMR) is proposed to use in cluster when communicate from sensor node to cluster head. The simulation results illustrate that the algorithm makes network life longer than common LEACH.
