Research Of Wireless Sensor Network Routing Protocol Based On LEACH

At present,wireless sensor network(WSN) has attracted the academia and industry.It becomes a new hot field of computer science,and it is considered that will have a tremendous influence in this century.The routing technology is one of the important technologies of the WSN.A rational routing algorithm can improve the performance of WSN.Therefore,the research of WSN routing has an important significance to the theory and practice.Based on the analysis of the existing WSN routing protocols,this thesis focuses on the LEACH protocol especially.The main research and work includes the following aspects:(1)Introducing the definition of WSN.The architecture,features and application of the WSN are analysed.Classifying and making a comparative study of the existing WSN routing protocols.Some aspects about performance evaluation of WSN are introduced.At last,the reason is explained to choose LEACH protocol to be reseached.(2)Researching the classical LEACH routing protocol,analysing its work procession,advantages and disadvantages and proposing some improved aspects: Original LEACH protocol selecting cluster nodes randomly,the developed way makes the current energy of nodes as one of the factors that influence the node to be a cluster node;A algorithm is used to selected an optimal number of cluster nodes.It can cost the total energy of network in each round.Through this way,the lifetime of network can be extended;The nodes in the same cluster choose the direct way to communicate.The cluster nodes choose direct or indirect way to communicate with the sink node according to the energy and the distance.(3)The NS-2 is used for simulation to prove the improved algorithm(LEACH-A) is efficient.According to the simulation results,it is shown that the improved algorithm extends the lifetime,increasing the efficiency.The applications of WSN are diverse and complex.Different applications of WSN have different requirements about routing techniques.It is very difficult to find a common routing protocol fitting all applications of WSN.It is a crucial principle for the research of WSN according to a specific application in the future.
