The terminal communication access network is a communication access network, which is established for the acquisition of distribution and consumption data of power, power marketing, the interaction of electricity and other aspects. Since the terminal communication access network has a variety of technology system, the various types of manufacturers models, poor equipment operating environment and the different needs of the business applications and other characteristics, the difficulties about the operation and maintenance, and management of the terminal communication access network is increasing fundamentally. With the grid’s developing toward the goal of being intellectualized, the level of automation of the grid has improved continuously. Once the information and communication systems of the power is suffer from malicious attacks or control, it will cause more damage. Therefore, it is an urgent need to establish a manageable and maintainable terminal communication access network NMS with perfect system and reliable operation.In the terminal communication access network management system, the NBI occupies a pivotal position. It is a bridge between the management system and the equipment and equipment network management system of manufacturers. It provides the data and information channel for the network management system to grasp the manage information of the whole network. However, the access network equipment is in a multi-manufacturers and multi-protocol environment. There is a big difference in the interface protocols, interfaces functions and information models of different manufacturers, which affects the interconnection between the management system and the managed network. Therefore, it is necessary to design a standard northbound interfaces to implement the two-way adaptation and interoperability of the information between management system and manufacturers’ network management systems. Developing a standard north interface based on the interface of the existing equipment manufacturers’ network management system, it will achieve the management demands of the resource management and real-time monitoring that the terminal communication access network needs and has important practical value.The author proposes a design and implementation solution that based on the TMN management structure, TL1protocol and XML technology to the standard NBI by studying the main problems between the NBI provided by the manufacturers’network management systems and the construction of the terminal communication access network management system. On the basis of the analysis of the current status of NBI provided by the manufacturers’network management systems and the network management system requirements for the NBI, the solution has raised a set of standard information model which can be used to describe the managed resource. It also implements the NBI architecture of the access network management system based on the set of the standard model. At the same time, the solution has achieve the management function that inquire the relevant events and status on managed objects. Access network management system can directly inquire the alarm data, configuration data and performance data of each manufacturer’s device or network management system in managed network. Meanwhile, some of the emergency alarm event can also be promptly reported to the access network management system. The architecture of the interfaces and the standard information models ensure the effective use of the existing equipments which belong to a variety of network equipment manufacturers, but also realize that the new equipment quickly and easily access the access network management system. And then it achieves scalability requirements.This paper introduces the design ideas and implementation of the power terminal communication access network management system NBI in detail, and it also summarizes the deficiencies about design and implementation process. I hope it can be improved and perfected in the future.
