In recent years, the network data throughput of mobile communication increases rapidly. Theoperators have accumulated rich experience about the network planning and construction of2G and3G. However, the study of LTE network is still in the exploration stage. The network planning anddesigning of LTE FDD plays an important role in shortening construction period and reducinginvestment risk in the network construction. Therefore, network planning and designing is the keystep.Wireless network planning of LTE FDD is studied in this thesis. First of all, the networkparameters based on the technical features of LTE FDD are given. Then, the wireless networkplanning flow and main work of LTE FDD are analyzed and introduced, and the coverage planning,capacity planning, site planning, frequency planning and planning simulation are studied. Two keyfactors including coverage planning and capacity planning which influence the wireless planning ofLTE FDD are particularly discussed. On this basis, taking a certain city as an example, the networkplanning of the station outside and chamber subsystem of the city are studied, especially focused onplanning of outdoor station. Firstly, the propagation model of three areas including dense urban area,second-rate dense urban area and usually dense urban area are adjusted, and the necessity ofadjustment compared with Cost231-Hata models is illustrated; Secondly, the coverage stationnumber combining coverage radius with coverage area which calculated by the link budget isestimated; Finally, the preliminary outdoor site scale of the city combining the users, businessmodel, terminal account and other parameters are obtained.In order to verify the obtained site scale and parameters, the site scale and parameters of thecity’s three functional areas are stimulated and verified through the Atoll simulation software.According to the stimulation results, the outdoor site scale of LTE FDD wireless network planningand new site lists and project proposal of the base station’s configuration of the city are given.
