With the development of the China’s factory pig industry, the scale of thepiggery is increasing. As a result of this, the environments in pig house have a moreimportant effort on the growth of pigs. The piggery environmental monitoringTechnology plays an important role in the development of the pig industry. Themodern piggery usually builds house at remote place. The environments in pig houseare so complex that it is hard for network cabling. Considering the situation, thisthesis designs a piggery monitoring system based on wireless sensor network. Themonitoring system combines the wireless sensor network technology、the mobilenetwork technology and the Android technology. The system consists of sensornetwork、embedded gateway、central computer server and mobile phone client.Taking the advantage of the ZigBee technology, this thesis puts the ZigBeesensor nodes into the pig house and builds an wireless network which can take thetemperature and humidity data. The data taken by the ZigBee node will be sent theembedded gateway. With the S3C2440as the main processor, the embedded gatewayintegrates the coordinate node of the wireless network and the GTM900C. It cantransmit the data between the wireless network and the GPRS. Via the embeddedgateway the wireless network can be available through the traditional informationnetwork. The central server PC on the internet communicates with the embeddedgateway through the Socket. It stores the data sent by gateway in the database andsends the user commands to the gateway. According to the J2EE standard, the Webserver program is built on the server PC. The server program implements the businesslogic layer and responses the JSON formatted data to the client. The applicationrunning on the Android mobile can monitor the temperature and the humidity in thepig house.At last the functional tests were carried on the monitoring system. As the resultsof tests show that the system can run stably and correctly and is easy to operate. Themonitoring system designed in this thesis has a wide range of uses in the modernfarming industry.
