Abstract:Currently, because of the higher quality of its image and sound, more selection of program, digital television has taken analog television’s place and has become the major TV equipment. With the continuous development of digital TV technology, equipments with high performance are required to produce high quality program. The rapid development of computer technology just provides a perfect platform for digital TV program production. TS capture and transmission devices of Digital Video Broadcast system, as I/O systems of TV program stream capture and transmission, have wide applications in digital television field. This paper focuses on research and implementation of TS capture and transmission system based on SOPC.A TS capture and transmission system, which consists of an I/O card and drivers by adopting SOPC technology and Windows driver development technology, is studied and implemented in this paper. This system used EP3C25Q240C8of Altera as process unit, DVB-ASI as data transceiver, PCI-PCIE bridge chip as PC interface. FPGA modules included reception and decoding module of ASI signal, encoding and transmission module of ASI signal, conversion modules between ASI signal and TS, cache modules for capture and transmission data, as well as SOPC module which applies PCI Compiler and DMA controller as its core components. The main functions of drivers included registration of I/O card, control operations of hardware, operations of data buffer in memory and providing program interface for applications. In order to solve the problem that common systems can not adaptively transmit TS according to signal bitrate, an adaptive algorithm of K28.5synchronous byte insertion was developed in this paper. Through real-time extraction of TS reference clock information, the number of K28.5synchronous byte was calculated. During insertion, number verification was running simultaneously to guarantee proper transmission of TS in case of TS bitrate unknown or wide bitrate variation. In addition, this paper designed an operation method combining interrupt and inquiry to solve the problem of PCI interrupt bottleneck. The FPGA modules were implemented using Verilog HDL on Quartus Ⅱ. Driver was developed by using DDK. This system can accomplish capture, transmission operation and simultaneous capture and transmission of single program TS and multiple program TS in different bit rates. After using TR101-290standard to run validation and test of this system, the result indicated that TS capture and transmission system based on SOPC presented by this paper is fully functional, stable, and the drivers is well compatible.This paper utilized SOPC technology to improve efficiency of system development, integrity and stability of system. After PCI-E interface is fully applied in the system and drivers in higher version OS is developed, this system will have wider application prospect.
