With the rapid development of science and technology, the amount of process and sampling data in the radar, communication, measurement and control of the space vehicle is increasing. The demand of data transmission rate, the reliability, the stability and the storage capacity of the system is more and more high. The traditional parallel data transmission system is more and more difficult to meet the modern equipment of data transmission of high bandwidth, high reliability and long distance transmission of demand. Therefore, the research on the new type of data transmission system not only has theoretical significance, but also has practical value. This paper is from a continuous wave radar project, which requires data transmission system with long transmission distance, large bandwidth, low delay characteristics and high reliability.Through the research and analysis of the existing data transmission technology and system, this paper designs and implements a high-speed data transmission system based on FPGA and optical fiber technology. The system is composed of data sending and data receiving end, between the two through fiber optic interconnection, can achieve long-range, high bandwidth and low latency of real-time data transmission. The specific research work of this paper is as follows:Firstly, through the extensive investigation and research of the current mainstream data transmission technology, we choose a real time transmission technology suitable for radar echo data.Secondly, the application background of high speed data transmission system in the continuous wave radar is introduced. We have studied the key technologies related to this topic, including data framing techniques, data check technology and synchronous design technology.Thirdly, through the analysis of the data transmission system’s functional requirements and requirements, the overall framework of the system is completed.Fourthly, we study the transmission system functions of FPGA and interface programming in detail, including Aurora serial transmission module, DDR3 SDRAM interface and PCI Express bus interface.In the end, in order to verify the function and performance of the system, the design of the data transmission system has been tested in detail. Through the host computer program for data processing, ChipScope ISE software debugging and other methods, the final completion of the high-speed data transmission system design and implementation is achived.Test results show that the data transmission system designed in this paper can satisfy the design requirements of high speed, high capacity and high stability.The data transmission rate of the data transmission system can reach 150MB/s, which can meet the demand of data transmission of the continuous wave radar.
