Information literacy is a necessary ability that everyone should havein the information age environment, and it is an important condition ofpeople in social life.It forms the basis of people’s lifelong learning.Growth and development of primary and middle school students haveimportant influence on the future of the country.Based on domestic and foreign scholars about the connotation ofinformation literacy of the definition and the reference of the existingresearch results, the author analyzed the factors that affect thedevelopment level of junior middle school students’ information literacy.On the basis of these factors, the author compiled the "junior middleschool students’ information literacy questionnaire", to investigate andinterview the field in WuHai forth middle school and conducted empiricalresearch.Questionnaires were starting from8factors. They are familyupbringing, parental education, family economic income, their attitude,academic, teachers’ effect, information technology course learning,network usage. After a pre-survey and modified the questions of thequestionnaire section, formed a formal questionnaire. The author selectedthe second grade and third grade students as samples in WuHai forthmiddle school and collected relevant data. After excluding part invalidquestionnaires, the author began Statistical analysis to investigate thefactors of affect students’ development of information literacy.The study found that parents’ education and family economicincome have a significant impact on students’ information literacy level;Girls’ information literacy level is higher than boys’; the interest in information technology and information technology course have asignificant impact on students’ information literacy level; in course ofstudy, teachers often use multimedia courseware for teaching have thepotential to promote role of the students information literacy level.According to statistical analysis concluded, I made therecommendations to enhance the promotion of junior high schoolstudents information literacy level:(1)Improving the recognition ofparents to create the necessary information environment for the students’growth;(2) Improving the information technology teaching proficiency toprovide demonstration and guiding for the effective use of studentinformation resources;(3) Improving information technology teachingenvironment, provide more quality learning resources to support studentsusing of information resources to carry out independent research,collaborative learning;(4) Mining information technology courseteaching values, to promote the level of students informationliteracy;(5)Pay attention to people’s livelihood and social fairness, narrowthe income gap between the rich and the poor, gradually achieve theequalization of students’ learning condition and growing environment.
