With the continuous development of science and technology, in the21stcentury, thenetwork is becoming an indispensable part in people’s social lives. As one of theemerging technologies that can be used to implement the wireless personal area network,ZigBee becomes a research hotspot in recent years, for its characteristics of low powerconsumption, low cost, easy application, etc.This paper completes the design of the framing part of the transceiver which can beapplied to2.4GHz ZigBee technology. The framing part accomplishes the function ofpackaging the sending data into the format of the general data frame stipulated by theZigBee protocol, and outputting it with the form which can be easily disposed by thesubsequent part. This article uses the top-down design approach. First, the framing partis divided into several easy implemented sub-modules, including CRC coding block,format conversion preparation block, format conversion block, asynchronous FIFO,clock divider block, and frame sending block, with code writing using Verilog. Then,after finishing the testing work of each sub-module, the whole framing part is simulatedwith the simulation tool of ModelSim SE10.1c software. The resulting waveforms arealso analyzed and explained. The results show that the designed framing part of thispaper meets the specification of ZigBee protocol, and reaches the original design goal.
