The popularity of today’s tablet computer and big screen smart mobile phone has brought opportunities for the development of portable ECG monitor. According to this development trend, This paper designs a portable ECG (Electrocardiograph) signal real-time acquisition, processing and transmission system, The System consister of special ECG analog to digital conversion chip which has24-bit of high precision in order to FIR filter algorithm for high order digital filter based on FPGA(Filed Programmable Gate Array). The system of collecting and processing ECG data can be transmitted to the tablet computer or big screen smart mobile phone to facilitate their initial diagnosis of heart disease. The system has a portable and cost-effective, besides, the system obtain the ECG data has a perfect filtering effect.The portable ECG monitor design mainly includes two main parts:the hardware and the software design. By designing and simulating each module respectively for both hardware and software, the system can be integtated and validated at last.The hardware design includes: power module, FPGA module, ADC module, ECG Preprocessing module and host PC communication module.The software design is FPGA software design. Where FPGA software is composed of ECG signal acquisition software module. ECG signal filter processing software module and serial interface communication module design.As for ECG signal filtering algorithm of the system, this paper adopts the FIR (finite impulse response) filter algorithm to remove the high frequency interference, which simplifies the hardware and gets better performance. FIR coefficient setting is critical for FIR filter algorithm. In this paper, FIR coefficient is tuned to the best by experiment after simulation: Made FIR coefficient with the MATLAB toolbox FDATOOL, and the coefficient of simulation to determine optimum performance FIR coefficients, finally to achieve the best result through the experimental which debugged under the guidance of the simulation results.In order to facilitate the testing of the experiment, this topic first design a low frequency sine wave as signal source. Through of the sine signal real-time acquisition and processing to provethe validity of the system, and finally obtain the experimental conclusion with the testing of ECG signal.
