The adaptive is widely used in the fields of digital communication,radar, sonar,earthquake,navigation,bio-medication,industry control and so on. The research on hardware implementations of adaptive filters have been a hotspot in adaptive signal processing fields all the while.Along with the development of electron technology,functions of the digital systems has become more and more powerful,nevertheless,the device' s response speed has been demanded to be higher and higher.The main work of this thesis is to design a FPGA-based adaptive filter implemented by pure hardware.With the study of noise,noise cancel adaptive filter based on LMS algorithm is designed out and simulated on Matlab at first.Filtering precision and adjusting are analysised after a series of simulation,which is the basis of implementation on hardware.Then,a model of adaptive filter has been built on LMS algorithm using DSP Builder tool.Generally,in order to implement an adaptive filter on FPGA,we need to write the hardware code in VHDL or Verilog. But,this method is low-efficiency and hard.The adaptive filters implemented by programming using DSP processors have a low processing speed,and implemented by FPGA through bottom laver HDL coding have a poor development efficiency,a new method using DSP Builder system modeling is put forward in this paper to solve these problems.2-tap and 4-tap adaptive filters based on LMS are designed in this thesis,by using the DSP developing tool DSP Builder and some sorts of EDA tools,which make the efficiency and calculating velocity of adaptive filter advanced a lot.This new design method is the frontier and direction of developing of EDA,which has an important influence on the implementation of adaptive filter on FPGA.The paper implements the adaptive filters on real FPGA chip,and validates it by giving some reference data.The adaptive filter designed here is mainly used in TV set.A design model is demonstrated in connection with the real implementation of the system of audio controlling in TV set,and this thesis completes implementing the model on hardware.The system is a project that make the voice-recongnize technology practical,and is an interesting application.
