With the development of technology, there is an increasing demand for the data throughput,especiallyin the areas of the High-Speed data acquisition and High-Resolution video transmision. The Super-SpeedUSB3.0is the latest version for USB interface. The USB3.0protocol provides a new Super-Speedtransmission rate of5Gbps, which is10times faster than USB2.0, and more efficient power management.As the USB3.0interface becomes more and more popular, the application fields is becoming wider andwider. The main work of the image acquisition system is to complete the total process of video dataacquisition, transmisssion and display, and the choice of transmission interface, as well as the transmissionmode, determines the video image quality and max frame rate, largely. The image acquisition system withUSB2.0has been widely used in the areas, such as community monitoring, industrial control, nationaldefense security. But the highest rate of USB2.0(480Mbps) has limited the development of the camera.Hence, the study of High-Resolution image acquisition system with USB3.0interface is becoming moreand more necessary.This system uses CMOS image sensor MT9P031of Micro as the image acquisition block. This Chip iswidely used in camera design with the active pixels2592(H)×1944(V), and can complete the720Ptransmission at60fps. The CMOS sensor passes data to CYUSB3014through parallel interface. Data istransmited in bulk transfer rate to the device driver through the DMA channel, under Slave FIFO mode.The device driver passes data to the AMCAP, and AMCAP converts the data format RAW RGB to RGB24by calling transform filters programmed under DirectShow structure. Finally, the video data can bedisplayed synchronously on AMCAP.Through the debugger of hardware design and software programming, the system with USB3.0interface can be identified by the Windows operating system. The max frame rate under720P preview is45fps. The max frame rate under1080P (the resolution is1920×1080) is30fps. The max frame rate under fullscreen mode whose resolution is2592×1944is14fps.The experimental results demonstrate the solution that CYUSB3014finishes the High-Resolutionvideo data tranmision is feasible. With the popularity of USB3.0interface, there will be more imageacquisition system with USB3.0interface on the market, and we will be provided with higher quality videoimage service.
