TCN (Train Communication Network) is a communication network for connecting electric equipments in a train according to IEC 61375. The general architecture of the TCN includes two bus types: WTB (Wired Train Bus) and MVB (Multifunction Vehicle Bus).WTB interconnects vehicles of a train; MVB interconnects electronic equipment within a vehicle. MVB is broadly used and it is the foundation of TCN.For MVB's testing requirements and the special nature of the laboratory environment,the system simulates many equipments which are too large or too expensive. After researching the basic principle of the equipment which we want to simulate and combination the features of USB and LabVIEW ,we propose the design of MVB intelligent node. The system simulates locomotive starting.Firstly,the paper outlines the importantment of the MVB in the train network and the necessity of the design of MVB intelligent node in the testing of MVB network;Secondly,it introduces some important technologies which are used in MVB intelligent node and determine the whole design program; Thirdly,it introduces the design of MVB/USB converter. It is the most important part in my paper;Finally,it designs PC program by the request of stimulant node. In hardware portion, We design the system of Nios II in FPGA by using SOPC and Firmware process. In software portion,we introduce the design of locomotive starting's simulation. The communication module for USB, the design of intelligent node simulation module by using LabVIEW. It presents the outcome of the subject,and tests the results until now in the end of the paper.From the testing and the result,we can conclusion that MVB/USB converter meets the design requirements .By the system of PC's simulation and monitor,it can simulate various nodes and change the function of node. It brings the great convenience of MVB network for the design and debugging.
