Ultrasound RF(Radio Frequency) digital signal containing original diagnosticinformation is obtained after analog to digital conversion and digital beam forming byultrasonic digital front probe. With the help of computer, we can restore the ultrasoundimage from the Ultrasound RF data. For the purpose of transferring Ultrasound RF datato computer, we need to choose a high-bandwidth computer bus.USB, which has the advantages of convenient use, plug-and-play, hot-swappable,is a bus standard used for connecting and communicating data between computer andexternal device. The new USB3.0protocol brought up in2008requires the maximumtransmission bandwidth between computer and USB device is5.0Gbps. In this subject,we combined with the characteristics of the Ultrasound RF data and USB3.0bus,designed an Ultrasound RF data acquisition and transmission system based on USB3.0bus, and verified the feasibility of the system.The main contents of the project as follows:1、Study USB3.0protocol, select the USB peripheral control chip and CPLD logiccontrol chip, study the function of the chips, build the hardware system framework,draw the hardware schematic, design and protract the PCB according to place and routerequirement of the USB3.0super-speed device.2、Complete the design of the USB3.0acquisition card hardware circuit, implement thecommunication and data transmission between computer and USB3.0device.3、Develop the USB firmware, set USB3.0device work in super-speed mode and set thedevice descriptor, configure descriptor, interface descriptor, endpoint descriptor of theUSB device according the requirements of the acquisition system. Configure the inputendpoints for data buffering, set DMA communication channel.4、Develop the CPLD logic control module, program the CPLD with Verilog hardwaredescription language to coordinate data transmission according to the logic timingrequirements when the GPIF interface of USB3.0working in SLAVE FIFO mode.5、Design the USB3.0driver and PC application program. Install device drivers for the USB3.0device, so that the computer can perform various operations on the USB device.Develop PC applications, provide the man-machine interface, start or stop theUltrasonic RF data transmission.
