The Building Automatic Monitoring System (BAMS) is a subsystem of the Intelligent Building and it involves many aspects, such as electrics, heating, security and fire protection. Current Building Automatic Monitoring System mainly uses the cable system but it still has so many problems, such as huge resource consumption, poor expandability, high maintenance costs and crashed system caused by link failure; however, these problems can be solved by using wireless technology. ZigBee is a kind of wireless technology with features of low-power consumption, low-data rate, self-organized network, and which is suitable for wireless monitoring network ideally. Consequently, the paper presents a design scheme of monitoring system for wireless building automatic network.The paper describes the function requirements of the wireless BAMS in fire protection, than analyses the characteristics and advantages of ZigBee, finally presents the overall design of the monitoring system network. This paper describes the system scheme design from the following aspects: firstly, in the aspect of wireless communication technology, several commonly used wireless communication technologies are analyzed in this paper, and ZigBee is selected as the wireless communication technology by comparing these technologies’ network capacity, communication distance, data rate and power consumption. Secondly, in the aspect of parameters design of monitoring system network, the system parameters are designed according to the current fire protection rules and ZigBee technical requirements. Thirdly, in the aspect of node distribution, specific distribution scheme is given for the specific structure of buildings under the condition of ensuring the reliability of the communication. Fourthly, in the aspect of function design, several system functions are given for meeting the demand of monitoring system, such as constructing the network, information monitoring and event processing. Fifthly, in the aspect of hardware and software design, system on chip based on single-chip cc2530is chosen as the solution, meanwhile, some interfaces and circuits are presented, for example, wireless communication interface, serial communication interface, power model and the keys model. These functions which are described earlier are implemented with IAR, and finally test shows that the system can run normally.The normal ZigBee network can not meet the maximum throughput, this is because when the packets are routed and forwarded among these intermediate nodes, they are just stored and forwarded to destination without executing extra process. However, with the help of network coding, the system can reach the min-cut max-flow. The node models are improved by using the COPE algorithm and the simulation model is constructed based on OPNET. The impact which carries by node depth and network structure of the system is analyzed in the paper. Finally, the paper studied the network coding theory, and gave the analysis of performance of the improved system based on the COPE algorithm.
