Classical Chinese is extensive and profound. It carries the cultural essence of the thousands of years of the Chinese history. It inherits the valuable knowledge of many excellent historians and litterateurs of ancient China. They have written a lot of works, which have high value in various aspects. As a Chinese, we should pass on cultural classics. However, in the actual teaching, classical Chinese is a cultural barrier which is difficult for many students and teachers to break. The language used in classical Chinese is difficult to read or understand, the content is very old, and students have to recite many articles, which make students feel daunted at the sight of classcial Chinese and thereby do not enjoy studying it. Thus how to improve the teaching quality in a faster and more effective way, improve the students’appreciation taste, and let the students learn classical Chinese with interest became an urgent problem for each language teacher to solve.This paper bases on the new curriculum standard, and starts from the requirements and recommendations of classical Chinese teaching. It combines with the specific conditions of classical Chinese teaching in the No.3 Middle School and No.6 Middle School of Tumen area and carries out an in-depth analysis and discussion on the specific measures to improve the efficiency of classical Chinese teaching in middle schools. It has significant importance for the vast number of Chinese teaching workers to further realize the importance of classical Chinese teaching, and seek more innovative classical Chinese teaching methods. This paper mainly adopts the questionnaire investigation method, focuses on the present situation of the classical Chinese teaching in No.3 Middle School and No.6 Middle School of Tumen area, analyzes the causes of the problems, combines with the actual situation and puts forward specific suggestions on the optimization of classical Chinese teaching. This paper consists of four chapters.The first chapter is introduction. It mainly illustrates five aspects of the classical Chinese teaching of No.3 Middle School and No.6 MiddleSchool of Tumen area which are the topic proposal, research purpose and significance, research status, research scope and methods and definition of main concepts.The second chapter takes Compulsory Education Language Curriculum Standard as the starting point, and carries out an in-depth analysis on the requirements and suggestions of the classical Chinese teaching of middle schools.The third chapter combines with the actual situation and carries out investigation and analysis. It takes two middle schools of Tumen city, Yanzhou state as the research object, carries out an in-depth analysis on the status quo of the current classical Chinese teaching, especially analyzes specific problems remaining in the teaching process. In the analysis and research, it further expounds the objective results mainly in the form of chart. It adopts data comparative analysis method to conduct an in-depth analysis on the specific problems of the current students in the process of learning classical Chinese.The fourth chapter targets at the issues raised in the third chapter, and proposes relevant suggestions to promote the classical Chinese teaching efficiency in middle schools of Tumen city. Specifically speaking, it mainly starts from three aspects:first, it proposes suggestion to the schools to carry out classical Chinese teaching activities. Second, it requires the vast number of Chinese teaching workers to pay attention to the guiding work in the daily teaching work and grasp the chance of the phased settings of the development and extension of classical Chinese teaching. Third, it advises the students to read more classical Chinese articles and actively widen their reading scope so as to strengthen the learning ability.
