In recent years, the emergence of a variety of copyright on the TV screen has been successful, and promote the development of China’s television variety show. Actually as early as 10 years ago, the introduction of foreign excellent variety show mode has already begun, but due to different cultural system, national habits, the variety show direct "copy" does not necessarily achieve the desired results, so the localization of the program itself, appear particularly important.In this paper, the process of the localization of TV variety show as the object of study, the rise and development of the introduction of overseas variety show as the starting point, analysis of the localization of China’s television variety show from learning to follow, the introduction of copyright, and then to the three stages of the joint production of different performance, and the existence of the problem; To discuss the innovation of Chinese TV variety show in three aspects: content, production, and marketing, the existing problems and the strategies of optimizing and improving;And in 2015 the Dragon TV and Iqiyi video website jointly launched the copyright to introduce variety show “I went to school” as a typical case to do further detailed analysis.
