Compared with the west, China’s TV variety show is late. Reference and imitate foreign similar programs is a inevitable topic during the developing process of China’s TV program. From the initial "Lucky52" to "Happy Dictionary", from the "Super singing girl" to "The voice of China",most of these famous programs have their foreign origins. The cultural needs of Chinese has become increasingly diversified with the improvement of socio-economic level recent years. But the original variety show has been unable to meet the needs of multi-level audience. So the introduction of foreign advanced program has become a powerful weapon for each television to enhance their market competitiveness. According to incomplete statistics, more than half of the national top ten TV has bought foreign program copyright at present. However, their fate after transplanting in China is not the same because of cultural conflict and aesthetic conflict.The template class program has been introduced into China for more than10years. Compared with native variety shows, these "import" programs have more advantage in plot,stage scheduling, creative photography technique and matue operation. Some people say that Chinese TV program has been changed from "copycat" to "with international standards", is this really the case? We often see that a variety show is simply copied by many TV stations, whether guests, audience, or the set of "topic", are all the same and have no relationship with their local features. Plenty of fudge programs forcing the SARFT issued "opinion on further strengthening TV star comprehensive channel management"(hereinafter referred to as "cutback on TV entertainment") in2011to restrict and regulate the TV program production.As a template from Belgium’s variety show,"Generation show" have both achieved good performance ratings and good praise for experts before and after the"cutback on TV entertainment". This paper selects " Generation show" program for the case of an in-depth analysis of the localization of Chinese variety show in the introduction and the relationship between localization program and program innovation. This article is divided into three chapters, the first chapter shows the background and current situation about introduced variety show; the second chapter focuses on "Generation show" program as an example to analyze its localization strategy and innovative ideas; the third chapter based on the previous two chapters that come to a conclusion, program localization contribute to achieve indigenous innovation in the show.
