In 2017,China's TV variety shows were dominated by "slow variety",from cultural,to the homestay and so,a wave of "slow variety" was set off,especially in the fourth quarter of 2017.It's so popular that each television station wants to take a chance after a variety show called Back to field that produced by Hunan Satellite Television taking off in the first quarter of 2017.Although the homogeneity was serious,the new form made the audience find everything new and fresh,and achieved good(viewing results)ratings.However,many "slow variety shows" in China were affected by South Korea,which is directly related to the cultural backgrounds of two countries and the bottleneck period of Chinese variety shows.For program makers,imitating successful TV programs is undoubtedly the safest way to develop new types of programs under the current TV system of China.In the process of imitation,it is hard to meet the audience's expectations because of the exclusiveness of local culture while the cultural identity together with the localization context has the tendency of active selecting this type of variety shows.In order to provide reference for the future development of China slow variety shows,this article attempts to analyze the reason of imitating Korean slow variety shows from the perspective of cross-cultural communication and to apply the analysis of audience based on the theory of Uses and Gratifications to find the problems existing in the composing process.In addition,to imitate and localize the Korean slow variety shows,(Chinese Program producers)need not only to grasp the cultural Connotations and context demand of the program but also to draw on strong points to make up weak points in the imitation for improving the success rate and enhancing originality of Chinese program and also for ensuring the healthy development of Chinese culture.
