Children are the future and hope of a country,and the reading level of children has a profound influence on the reading level of a country.With the development of economy and culture,more and more attention has been paid to the education of children.In addition,in the context of the national reading,children's reading has become an increasing concern of relevant departments and scholars.As an important part of the national basic cultural service system,public library plays an important role in children's reading.In many developed countries,children's reading is regarded as one of the most important services in public library services.The public library service for children started late in China,and China has not complete library law,but also the lack of legal and policy support in children's services.But with the increasing growth and more attention of education,the development of China's public library services for children is faster and faster.Also,more and more parents began to actively use the library resources to help children develop an interest in reading,expand knowledge.At present,the development of China's national reading policy is becoming more and more mature,and the development of children's reading promotion in China has made great progress in the past ten years.This paper firstly made a summary of China's current situation of public library service for children from the perspective of the library science.Secondly,the paper summarized and analyzed the meaning,characteristics and functions of children's reading promotion services by the method of library science.Then the research summarized the elements of public library children's reading promotion service,used the method of library service theory to make a service mode.For Changchun city as an example,the paper made a investigation of public library reading promotion service in Changchun city,introduced the progress and problems the public libraries in Changchun city have made and then put up with the strategy for children's reading promotion service with the service model of public library children's reading promotion.This survey took the users in Changchun city library,Jilin Provincial Library and Changchun children's library as the research object,analyzed the needs of 4 to 14 years old of all ages of children and teenagers,investigated the activities children love and the mode which fit children from children's needs and hold angle,considered to all ages of children's needs,made analysis and summary for it,and sought the views and opinions of the children's reading promotion activities.At the same time,to understand the children's interest in reading further,the paper investigated the parents and asked the views of parents on reading promote activities and take the needs of parents to the consideration of children's reading promotion service analysis.Children's reading promotion activities in public libraries in China has developed only in recent ten years,but content and related infrastructure has become more and more complete and mature in the aspect of children's reading promotion activities in the form,But because of the lack of legislation and regulations with standard strict norms,in the actual process of the public library children's reading promotion the service of public library often lacks ideas and values in the guide.The concept of lifelong learning that libraries should advocate and implement in the actual process has not been carried out.The definition of clients also have some errors.These problems will be improved and should be the direction of China's public library children's services in the future.
