| After the reform and opening up policy, due to the constant guidance by urban developing policies and the gradually developing socialist market economic system, city’s historical business center became hot spot in city construction as a result of its own disadvantage. However, since issues of developing system, ideology, management system still exists,the development of those historical business center is somehow chaotic in China.Urban renewal has always been accompanied by the development of the city,asa adjustment to satisfy civilian’s needs at different periods. As the urban developmentgetting larger,the reformation of old towns getting detailed, the conflicts and profitsare getting involved in each other, historical business centers are challenged by the modern business centers. How to deal with the difficulty and expedite the historical business center’s development, becomes a highly respected topic in the city’s rapid expansion.The subject of “The Strategy of Embedded Transformation in TraditionalCommercial Central District——With the transformation of Zhongshan RoadNanchang City as an Example†belonged to the areas of Design Methods of UrbanRenewal on Chinese cities. The research focus on urban design， learning fromforeign advanced methods of urban renewal， and finding useful practices in China.Through the practices of theoretical analysis and summary of cases， exploring theurban design renaissance in our city centers.Through the research and analysis of Zhongshan Road historical business center, Nanchang， Jiangxi， the strategy， design method and principal of embedded transformation is proposed in this paper， as well as the application in practice in the project of Zhongshan Road transformation. The purpose is to improve embedded transformation theory and design method of the historical business center. |
