More and more people now can use these media devices, which reach a far wider scope than traditional ones. The emerging media is referred to as "We-Media". It is spread widely and can bring new blood for ecology of communication. It is both challenge and opportunity for traditional media. Because it has shaken the monopoly of traditional media to make a voice, broken the barriers between media and audience, made ecology communication more transparent. And it is a window to mediate public opinion, improve people’s condition. So the media has made it accessible for everyone to welcome a new era with "microphone" to talk.This article tries to start from flood of Kunming on the nineteenth of July, analysis the function and role of the media. Kunming cannot be ranked as developed in economy, politics, science and technology aspects. Being faced with flood, a large number of "citizen journalists" surge up in the era of "We-Media". They not only instantly issued a lot of new information related to the flood through their communication tools, also proved that the folk strength can be fully gathered, social cohesion can be largely increased.However, some problems also appeared in the process of media development. Unlimited information release terminal lead to information flooding,which can be mixed with a lot of false and vulgar information, causing a further confidence crisis for media, and fragmentation, trivialization have brought some negative influences to the development of society.
