In recent years, the phenomenon of "labor shortage" occurs frequently. Different fromthe past that the supply of talents with high level and knowledge is not adequate to thedemand, nowadays the talents of line workers with expertise and practical ability, especiallywith high-end skills are in great demand. In many job fairs, the graduates from vocationalschool are always in demand. Due to the lack of skilled talents, vocational education whichtrains the talents with professional skills attracts more and more attention.Throughout the world, many countries adopt the new policies to enhance the vocationaleducation which is thought as the one of driving force of economic development. For example,to cultivate the high skill talents and promote the economic development, Britain promulgatedthe "national skills strategy" and another two skill-development strategic documentsrespectively in2009and2010. France absorbed the "strengthen vocational education" into thetotal goal of education development and Reform. In South Korea, the government budget forcreating jobs which was used in vocational education increased of more than3times. Inrecent years, china’s cabinet and the central committee of the Chinese communist partyattached great importance to vocational education and has promulgated the "on promoting theoccupation education reform and development of the decision","national long-term educationreform and development plan (2010-2020)” and other policy documents. Meanwhilevocational education has been served as the basis for promoting the local economicdevelopment across the country. To support the development of vocational education, localgovernment has also carried out the “tuition free policy”.Today our society has entered into information times,the universal application ofcomputer technology has made the vocational education face the important challenge.Therefore strengthen vocational education-informational and cultivating the computer skills isimperative, which will improve the students’ qualities and skills.At present, according to the national policy, secondary vocational schools have openedthe courses of information. Some schools are carrying on research of introducing the relatedcourses to the major teaching and exploring the new ways to improve the students’ syntheticalapplication ability. Relevant theoretical research is also a lot. Through wide data access, theauthor has fined that the research on computer skills of the secondary vocational schoolstudents can fall into two categories. One category is on computer major and anther is onnon--computer majors. There is little research on some specific major. So it’s very necessary for us to carry out the research on cultivation of computer skills on specific majors.The author works in Shijiazhuang Urban and Rural construction school which is asecondary vocational school. Most of courses in school are related to architecture major, butthere are also some other courses related to computer. Teachers generally reflected that theproblems of learning weariness and classroom teaching inefficiency existed in the teaching.According to the actual situation of the school, the author conducted the research oncultivation of secondary vocational school students’ computer skills through data collection,questionnaire, statistics and analysis of data. The author putted forward that setting cultivationaims of computer skills should not be realized by reducing the cultivation aims of computermajor’s directly, but should set the targeted aims according to the actual demand. Meanwhilethe author gave the idea of setting the project according to the demand and designing theteaching on the basis of various levels of the students. Aiming at the characteristics ofarchitecture majors and actual demand, the author designed the different project modules, thusrealized the organic combination of transverse and longitudinal evaluation of studentevaluation by setting the different-level teaching aims. During the research, the author hasused his idea in teaching in a small range for almost two years, and the students’ computerskills have been improved a lot by this way. The computer level of the graduate has beenpraised by the employers.The research of the paper went through several stages including data collection,questionnaire, statistical analysis of data, bringing forward the train objectives, design ofmodular program, hierarchical program design etc.
