Nowadays, the school-running models of the secondary vocational education are school and industry combination and industry, study and research integration. Its main aim is to train secondary vocational school students to have the technology ability of being required in their work, culturing qualified talents for the forefront of production.The teaching idea of the project teaching method is to take working process as the main line, to take students as the learning body, and teachers as the lead, to take the training of vocation capability as the curriculum key, combining working with study, advocating study in practice and in requirement, autonomous study and co-study. It takes the advantages of constructivism and STS education, completely embodying the modern education idea of students as the learning body, and teachers as the lead.This paper proposes the research of using the project teaching method to support IT curriculum teaching according to the training goal of the secondary vocational education and the teaching experience in the writer's college: analyzing the present research situation at home and abroad, clarifying the research meaning, then discussing the theory basis, analyzing the design, carrying-out, and evaluation of the project teaching method in the course of web design and production.The result shows: the project teaching method is feasible and practical in the secondary vocational IT teaching to some extent. It can not only develop students learning interest, enhance their study ability, communication ability, creation ability and cooperation ability, but also teachers carry out teaching tasks well, and develop teaching quality.
