Energy problem has always been a major problem restricting social development, response to national call and keep up with the development of the times, colleges and universities are to carry out the construction of conservation-minded campus, while monitoring the campus lighting effectively is one of the most effective ways. According to estimates, colleges lighting power consumption accounted for about40%of all consumption. Traditional campus lighting is given priority to hand control, sound control or clock control,in general, is mechanical decentralized control, coupled with weak consciousness of resource saving, will inevitably lead to different degree of energy waste, does not meet the requirements of energy conservation and emissions reduction. With the development of information technology, To design a lighting monitoring system of high degree of automation, reliable operation, high efficiency and energy saving and convenient in operation and maintenance, is the requirement of the modernization of the lighting monitoring and management, at the same time it has the following positive significance, save energy, enhance colleges appearance and improve the human environment.Based on a university campus as the research background, combined with computer technology, wireless communication technology, database technology and Web technology, a set of campus lighting monitoring system is designed. Firstly this paper analyzes the actual campus lighting monitoring requirements, gives the general structure of the system design, and then analyzes the monitoring nodes and design, including hardware selection, communication protocol design, the monitoring nodes of network and routing design, different types of monitoring nodes software design. As ASP. NET is development platform,system monitoring center software is divided into the system database, background communication program and Web services application, background communication program mainly answer for receiving and dealing with data information,besides receiving and sending control commands.The Web service application functions include real-time monitoring, data query, report forms and background management system.Through simulation testing, the system can monitor for the campus road and classroom lighting effectively, enhance the reliability and controllability of campus lighting, reduce the operating costs of the school, push forward the construction of the "conservation-minded campus", and last provide a train of thought and method for the campus light monitoring system design.
