Research And Implementation Of Intelligent Lighting Based On ZigBee

The conservation of resources and the protection of environment have became more and more important to human beings in recent years. To build the saving-type society and reduce the consumption of energy, the Chinese government advocates that the lighting system should be more intelligent, standardized and interoperable.With the rapid development of the short-distance wireless communication technology, the application and popularization of wireless intelligent products have already entered a new stage. ZigBee, with the unique advantage of low cost, low power consumption and larger network capacity, has been applied in the filed of sensing and control recently. In an intelligent system, various appliances may be connected through a ZigBee network, as s result, it becomes more convenient for us to manage and manipulate them.According to the the latest ZigBee Light Link standard, which is set specially by ZigBee Alliance for lighting, this article mainly provides an intelligent lighting system based on LED and ZigBee technology. The system allows you to turn on or turn off LED bulbs through your phone, as well as control the brightness and hue of them wirelessly.In order to complete a desirable system, firstly I analyzed the development status of intelligent lighting, and studied the characteristics of ZigBee wireless techology. Then I deviced a preliminary scheme, designed the hardwares including ZigBee gateway and LED bulb, and developed embedded software based on the Z-Stack and the IAR platform. Proposed to control this system by the Android terminal wirelessly, such as a smart phone, PDA, I developed the applications in cooperation with some third-party partners, achieving the goal finally.
