Since we are in21st century, human society is gradually entering the age of intelligent information. Using high-tech means to maintain the social security and to increase the safety factor, preventing the occurrence of crime, is still a hot researching topic. And the remote monitoring system as one of important means, is subject to extra attention. As remote monitoring system is a wide-area heterogeneous system, keeping the stability and reliability of the data transmission, ensuring the orderly and efficient execution of task is critical. Besides, the development of image processing and pattern recognition technology also provided the impetus for the development of intelligent and automation of remote monitoring systems.In this paper, the solutions of key points about remote monitoring are put forward based on the requirement of smart home. As the zigbee data acquisition and control network of wide-area remote monitoring system has a large amount of redundant data, we use Leach distributed fusion algorithm to optimize the routing path. For the requirements of the intelligent and automation in remote monitoring system, we use image processing and pattern recognition technology to complete the image feature extraction, to realize the detection of moving targets and face detection. And then, centralized relative clock synchronization method is used to achieve the time synchronization of the wide-area monitoring, and the Most-Demand-First and Idlest-Fit Algorithm is used to achieve the task allocation and task scheduling of the monitoring system.At last, combining data processing method with pattern recognition techniques, this paper complete a remote monitoring system for smart home, and achieve stable data transmission and efficient intelligent monitoring system.
