Due to the extensive application of digital image, the requirements of real-time image processing are also getting higher and higher.The image processing which only to rely on software implementation has been unable to meet the requirements, so FPGA is increasingly used in image processing.This paper firstly analyzed the common image processing algorithms, and simulated through Matlab software to observed treatment effect. Then based on FPGA structural features, the appropriate hardware image processing algorithms had been realized. the improved median filtering algorithm and histogram equalization are implemented by using the language of verilog, and then simulation by the quartusll software. Finally, design the hardware platform,and FPGA is the core of this platform.Through this hardware platform,the simulation algorithm can be carried out experimental verification and performance analysis.The results showed that,the using of FPGA hardware platform for image processing can effectively improve the processing speed,meet the requirements of real-time image processing,has practical application value.
