The Research And Design Of PDCA-Based Information System For Postgraduate Management

With the comprehensive advancement of digital campus construction, universities and colleges have established the postgraduate management information system (PMIS) to replace the traditional manual management mode with the digitalized management, which has greatly alleviated the work load of the administrators and improved the working efficiency. However, in the actual application, it has exposed such new problems as the disjointing of different links in the management and the lack of quality control in the management process, which further has affected the overall quality of postgraduate educational management. Therefore, an urgent and pressing task the postgraduate education is facing is how to upgrade the designing of postgraduate management system and improve the quality of postgraduate education.To better perfect and improve the quality of postgraduate education, the article, conducting a case study of the postgraduate management information system in Zhejiang Normal University, designs a system based on PDCA cycle theory. The following three aspects are to be covered in this article:Firstly, to conduct the literature research. It is necessary to analyze the current situation of postgraduate management system and application of PDCA and introduce the quality management system and the PDCA cycle theory to provide the theoretical support for system designing.Secondly, to build quality management system. Four modules of management, i.e. postgraduate admission, training, degree and employment, are to be constructed and form the quality management system (QMS) based on PDCA. The mode of the PDCA-based information system for postgraduate management is thus put forward and formed on the basis of four stages of each module, planning, task execution, quality examination and result feedback.Thirdly, to design the system and realize its function in part. The PDCA-based information system for postgraduate management is designed and built according to the principles of system design, function demand analysis and structure design and has realized in part its function of online paper-reviewing system.This study introduces the cycle theory of PDCA in quality management, a new concept for the designing of the information system for postgraduate management. Compared with the traditional system, the postgraduate management information system based on PDCA focuses more on the integrity, connectivity and continuous improvement in the management process. And it is conducive to realize in a more effective way the standardized, normalized, scientific and information-based management of postgraduate education system.
