A Postgraduate Enrollment System Based On Web

The management of postgraduate enrollment, which core lies on the managementand analysis of various kinds of enrollment statistics, involves management ofexaminee registration, examination of qualification, management of examination,management of performance, management of examinee adjustment, management ofre-examination, and management of admission etc. The author of this thesis has richworking experience of postgraduate enrollment. Through the investigation andresearch of current systems of postgraduate enrollment applied, and by integratingfeatures of the process of postgraduate enrollment, the author designed a system ofpostgraduate enrolling management, which is based on the web technology, and ishighly efficient with low cost. This system accords with the Standards of ManagementInformation of Institutes of Higher Learning and Degrees Issued by ScientificResearch Institutions and Postgraduate Education, it also completely fits the Ministryof Education’s system of the national postgraduate enrollment. Not only can it provideexcellent and efficient statistics management for postgraduate departments, but alsostandardize every procedure in postgraduate enrollment, so as to improve the level ofmanagement informatization of institutes of higher learning and increase the efficiencyin postgraduate enrolling work.This thesis introduces the background and practical significance of the subjectfirstly, with a brief introduction of the key technology and the tools it used. Then,through a series of detailed analysis consisting of demands analysis and feasibilityanalysis, we designed the system on practical situation. It introduces the systemrealization and test conditions finally. This system is based on structure of B/S andtechnology of ASP, using SOL Server2000as the database. The Md5encryptiontechnique is applied to make the secured logging-on realizable, and its gradedexamination strengthens the security of the system. The system focuses onsimplification and practicability, and puts its emphasis on providing a reliable and safesolution to the examination affair management, which is the most heavy andtime-consuming in postgraduate enrollment. This system has been applied in theenrollment work done by the Postgraduate Enrollment Office of Xi’an University ofPosts and Communications in2011, and it can meet the need of the current enrollmentwork with its stability, safety and high efficiency.
