Advancing information industry is driven by the speedy development of the super large scaleintegration circuit. However, the problems of power and area of integration circuit emerge due tointegration and complexity increases. The adiabatic circuits greatly reduce the power consumptionby recover the electric charge stored in internal nodes of circuit realizing cyclic utilization ofenergy. Multi-valued logic has a huge advantage in information carrying capacity compared withBoolean logic. And Domino logic is a circuit with excellent properties in speed and area. So wecan simplify the circuit structure and reduce circuit area by combining the multi-valued logic withthe Domino logic. In order to achieve high information density and low power circuit design goal,researching the adiabatic circuit, multi-valued logic and Domino logic, a design scheme of ternaryadiabatic Domino circuit based on switch-signal theory is proposed in this paper. The maincontents of this paper are shown as follows:1、Switch-signal theory and design of ternary adiabatic Domino gate circuit: Research onswitch-signal theory in-depth and use the switch-signal theory to design the ternary adiabaticDomino circuit, providing theoretical basis to the design of ternary adiabatic Domino circuit. Thecircuit structure of ternary gate circuit is obtained by theoretical derivation laying the foundation ofternary complex circuit design.2、Design of ternary adiabatic Domino literal operation circuit: Exploiting the mutualexclusion and complementary constraint relationship, a novel ternary literal operation circuit basedon adiabatic Domino circuit is proposed, on this basis the wave transform circuit is design, and theoutput signal of ternary adiabatic Domino literal operation circuit is transformed into inerratictrapezoidal waveform.3、Design of ternary adiabatic Domino adder and multiplier: By researching the structure andoperating principle of ternary adder and multiplier, according to the design idea of ternary adiabaticDomino circuit, the whole adder and multiplier is obtained by deducing the sub circuit structure ofone bit adder and multiplier, then the four bits adder and multiplier are by cascading.4、Design of ternary adiabatic Domino flip-flop and counter: By researching the structureand operating principle of ternary JKL flip-flop and counter, according to the design idea of ternaryadiabatic Domino circuit, the structure of ternary JKL flip-flop and one bit counter is deduced by the switch-signal theory, furthermore the ternary loop operation circuit, ternary reverse loopoperation circuit and four bits ternary counter are obtained.The circuits are simulated by the Spice tool to demonstrate the correctness of logical function.Compared with the conventional Domino circuit adopt DC power supply, the ternary adiabaticDomino circuit has prominent low power characteristics.
