The circulation of Japanese newspaper are always on the top of the Worldranking list.The population of Japan is only one hundred and twenty millions,whilethe newspaper’s circulation is a wonderful achievement.That is attributed to theJapan is always think highly of the development of the Media and citizen’s medialiteracy.Citizen’s media literacy is also improve the media undertaking.In Asia Japanis the first country makes efforts in media literacy.One of the reason is thegeographical features of Japan,and the most important reason is that Japan is treatthe development of media and the citizen’s media literacy as the consistent policy ofthe country and take the practical and effective measures on it.Japanese medialiteracy is different from the other developed countries.It has many specialcharacteristics.The paper analyses the Japanese media literacy and it’s policy fromdifferent angles and summarizes what we should be pay attention to.The first partproceeds from the large quantity of the circulation of the newspaper and the currentsituation of the media literacy in Japan.The second part is mainly analyses thefeatures about the Japanese media literacy and put particular emphasis on thewide-ranging of the media literacy.Such as the newspaper’s positive affect,medialiteracy in school,the promotion of the social organizations,the government takesmedia literacy seriously and the broad scale of the newspaper and the affection ofthem.Part three is based on all above and discuss the tactics and the experiences ofthe Japanese media literacy.Part four is think independently of the media literacy andput forward a proposal of the development of media literacy in China.
