Along with the development of data communications, the techniques of dataacquisition have been widely used in various fields,especially in the modern radarsystem,the performance of acquisition storage which is good or bad directly affects theperformance of the whole system.Modern radar acquisition system is faced with theproblems how the high-speed and large capacity of data flow is operated and dealdewith,thus there is a higher demand of transmission rateand bandwidth,how fast a largeamounts of collected data will be analyzed and processed become the bottleneck whichis the constraints about the system performance,further improve and the realization ofsystem function.In that context,this paper designs a high-speed data acquisition cardbased on PCI Express bus.This thesis is based on serious research in related researchful areas,andcomprehensive consideration of performance,cost and other factors to determine toadopt a dedicated chip PEX8311to design PCI Express bus interface and FPGA tocontrol the entire timing circuit.In this paper,the hardware section of the design uses amodular design structure,the hardware system is divided into differential signal datareceived signal,data cache,the design of PCI Express bus interface and the Local buscontrol of logic module and other major modules.The PCI Express bus interface PCBdesign and Local temporal logic for the configuration of the PEX8311is the emphasisand difficulty in the design.System software section includes the design anddevelopment of the device drivers and user applications,the device driver is developedusing the Driver Studio development environment and follow the WDM driverdevelopment model;application development design uses asynchronous I/O operationsand multi-threaded design architecture,which enhanced interactivity and improve theefficiency of data processing.Finally,we use the PLX’s PLXMon test platform to test theransmission performance of the design of PCI Express high-speed data acquisition card.
