Teenagers are the future of our nation, Under the general trend of informational society, mass media has the penetrative influence on teenagers, the television media and the network medium have direct affect on teenagers, it has beyond the impact of school education in shaping teenagers’values. Facing the huge negative impact of media, how to strengthen the teenagers’media literacy is a realistic problem in front of us. Teenagers’media literacy education appeared in developed countries earlier, and has popularized now, but it just starts in our country in few years, and compared with western countries, we still have obvious differences both in theory and in practice. Among western countries, Canada is the most typical and successful country in promoting media literacy education. Since the1960’s, media literacy was started in Canada, after nearly half a century’s development, it has gradually formed a complete system with their own characteristics. Canada has been the forefront of the media literacy education. Their four integrated education system with government、social force、school and parents and their way of cultivating the students’independent analytical thinking and also their progressive layers of the curriculum are the valuable parts that worth us to learn.This thesis mainly focused on analyzing and summarizing some useful experience about teenage media literacy education in Canada. By analyzing lager amounts of researches and materials that can be use, which include Canada media literacy organizations、professional website and the recent development of research. Based on all of the researches, and from the perspective of journalism trying to get some useful suggestions and enlightenment for china teenage media literacy education.The firs part of this article is the history of Canada media literacy education. Based on this,the author summarized the experience of Canada’s media literacy, including the structure、the system and the characteristics. The last part of this article is a summary of Canada’s media literacy education, the author presents some suggestion and opinions about how to carry out teenager media education in our country.
