This essay is not interested with the cons and pros of paperback books and e-books, but focuses on the design concept from the point of reading. Taking example of Penguin Books and Shenghuo-Dushu-Xinzhi Joint Publishing Company, this essay tried to learn from the long history of their book design. On the other side, the history of e-books proves that paperback books and e-books are identity. Coming up with the slogan "Design for New Reading", this essay returns to the original point that focus on the spirit of reading, and carefully think about the current design situation in order to understand the importance of reading heritage and innovation. |
