In the era of media society, the media information everywhere around us, it hasbecome a very important part of our daily lives, and always reflects the pulse of thecommunity movements. Child social, family or school environment have a greateffect on a person’s quality and character. But because children can access to themedia everyday and always in the concept of the information, the social impact ofteenagers is now far more than the family and school effects, resulting in the familyand school education has been severely suppressed and weakened. The informationchildren accept one day is more than peers accepted one week or even longer20yearsago. But the media is always a double-edged sword, it can provide more informationand knowledge to children, but on the other hand, it may also contaminate child minddrugs. So media literacy education has been very prominent and urgent in front of us.Whether foreign or domestic, both in theory and practice, the research on medialiteracy education is more and more, media education is paid more and more attention.But starting late and developing slowly in China, media literacy education has alsofailed to achieve universal, moreover, educators can’t understand the value andmeaning of the course, it can not be incorporated into the formal education of primaryand secondary schools and even university courses. It can only appear in theintegration with other courses and in some areas as a separate course research, so thatthe related education has been far behind the rapid development of the media.Based on the empirical research carried out in several primary schools by MediaLiteracy Education Research Center of Northeast Normal University in Chang ChunCity, this thesis investigates media literacy courses offered separately for elementarystudents. Instructional design is the most important part of the course and the mostimportant factor in the effect of teaching, so the core of the topics is course design.This paper includes the following sections: First, the definition of relevant conceptsand the literature review of the status quo of media literacy education and curriculum.Second, elaborate the theoretical basis and practical basis of instructional design tothis curriculum. Third, discuss the overall instructional design from severaldimensions and study media literacy classroom instructional design by way of someclassroom case. Then, analyze effectiveness of the entire semester teaching. Finally,the conclusions of this paper summarize the lack and prospects.
