News source is not only the first link in news production process, but also the principal mark to reflect the professional level and professionalization degree of media. With the acceleration of media marketization process and the diversification of source trend, to investigate the news source of domestic party newspapers is not only an extremely important topic of the recent journalism and communication research, but also the call of practice in news. In order to define the characteristics as well as the development and utilization promotion space of the economic news source in the current provincial party newspapers, this paper selects the economic news source from Dazhong Daily2011for research. Dazhong Daily is the organ of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, whose reform and development in economic news gathering and editing ranks the forefront in China, so it has certain representativeness and research value among the provincial party newspapers.Previous studies have shown, media often shows some bias on the selection and processing of news source, which mainly relies on some conventional sources and routine channels. This research finds the economic news source of Dazhong Daily has changed dramatically. The economic news with no news source and single news source makes up a large percentage; The diversity and deviation characteristics of news source are significant; Fuzzy news source is the second largest source; As a news source, the influence of the enterprise is increasing.The main idea of this study is to combine the gathering and editing mechanism of Dazhong Daily to make further analyses of the characteristics of Dazhong Daily economic news source and study the discovery and utilization system of the existing source; It also analyses the important changes and trends of the development and utilization of the party newspapers news source under the marketization condition and studies the development and utilization promotion space of the Dazhong Daily economic news source. This research shows that, the characteristics of Dazhong Daily are the reflection of the gathering and editing mechanism of media, and the imperfect gathering and editing mechanism not only restricts the diversity of the source, but also limits the development and utilization of the source. Under the impact of the questioning of the audience about the traditional authoritative source as well as the pressure of profits, the influence of the party and government organs in Dazhong Daily economic news source is becoming weaker and weaker, however, the relationship between enterprises and media is becoming closer and closer.Finally, the study proposes some specific suggestions on how to build a standardized, professional and efficient development and utilization system for Dazhong Daily economic news source on the basis of the standardized, professional and efficient principle.
