Research On Innovation Model Of University Library Digital Reference Service

Digital Reference is established on the basis of digital communications, librarians use network to provide service by sending and receiving e-mail, using web form or the online chat software. Its essence is relying on the network to answer the various problems encountered by the readers, aims to help the readers get information more convenient and effective when they need. It can be said that the Digital Reference is the library reference service adapting to the network environment As the first implementation of Digital Reference of the world, the United States is currently got the best Digital Reference Service, and have been gotten well formed theory during the practicing of digital reference service. Even the digital reference service in the university library of our country have been started late, but significant progress has been achieved. But the gap with foreign countries is still evident, both be lack of systematic and professional, so it is very necessary to recognize the status of the development of the domestic, learn from foreign counties both in experience and technology At last we can form our own characteristics digital reference seivice.In this paper, by researching on the digital reference service of major university library, comparing with the advanced experience of foreign countries, we want to explore the innovation model of the digital reference service. And we take Nanjing University Library as an instance of the innovation model validation, on purpose to help other university library to improve their service.
