Study On Supporting Functions Of University Library For University Science And Technology Innovation

In recent 100 years history of science and technology, economy and society development, the functions of universities have changed enormously. On the foundation of talents training and knowledge creation, the functions of science and technology innovation of universities were derived from the interaction and evolvement between university and society. If a university absents the functions of science and technology innovation in modern society, it would not develop continually. Based on these backgrounds the functions of university library serving to the universities have also changed. Supporting functions of university library serving to science and technology innovation was put forwarded. But currently few systematic researching has been conducted in civil and abroad in the field of science and technology innovation or university library. So studies on supporting functions of university library serving to university science and technology innovation are expected urgently.Based on systematically analysis of university library functions and university science and technology innovation functions, inherent interactions between them are set up, which are deduced from the viewpoint of university library functions changing and the inherent demands of university science and technology innovation, under the directing of science and technology philosophy of complexity, uncertainty and system. Secondly, concrete meanings of supporting functions of university library serving to university science and technology innovation are analyzed deeply from three aspects, such as knowledge resources, information resources and human resources. Furthermore, developing ways of supporting functions of university library to university science and technology innovation are brought forwarded, in which setting up environments of science and technology innovation, deepening contents of science and technology innovation and modifying science and technology innovation system are included. Especially detail ways of deepening contents of science and technology innovation are descried from four aspects, such as specializing of knowledge of science and technology innovation, digitalizing of information of science and technology innovation, bridging of talents of science and technology innovation, and activating service science and technology innovation. Finally, modes of knowledge management, modes of science and technology service and modes of science and technology organizing are brought up in practicing viewpoint of supporting functions of university library to university science and technology innovation.Studies of the thesis is very helpful for systematically understanding the supporting functions of university library to university science and technology innovation, modifying service quality of university library and promoting integrations of studies of science and technology innovation and the studies of library science.
