Design And Realization Of Scheduling Algorithm In HINOC Network MAC Layer

HINOC (High performance Network Over Coax) bridges the last100meters broadband access network using the out-of-band channel of Community Antenna TV (CATV) coaxial cable in the case of FTTB is widely deployed and used. This technology using the existing coaxial cable, only adding correlative HINOC Bridge(HB) and HINOC Modem(HM), could provide the services of IPTV, SDTV/HDTV and surfing the internet. It has great significance for removing restrict of broadband access and accelerating the process of network convergence.Based on the national863program-"Research of Multi-service and Broadband Access Network Using the Out-of-band Channel of Community Antenna TV Coaxial Cable", the SoC realization adapt to HINOC network MAC layer in Faraday A320platform is designed in this thesis, which focuses on the design and realization of scheduling algorithm in the project.First of all, the characteristic of HINOC network is analysed, and the realization of MAC layer in A320platform based on HINOC protocol is designed. Then, after analysed the exist schduling algorithm, the scheduling algorithm suitable for HINOC network is presented, which is called Hierarchical Sharing Scheduling Algorithm with Lowest Guarantee(HSSA-LG). At last, the work process of scheduling system and the implementation of scheduling module in FPGA are introduced in this thesis. Cooperating with CPU, the scheduling module could take the received frames into the corresponding queues, and take the HINOC frames out of the queues according to the time distributed by controlling frames. Emulated by Modelsim, it is proved that this module can accomplish the scheduling task successfully.
