With the great impetus to State’s “triple play” in the past years, it is necessary topropose a wideband access technology which accords with our national situations.HINOC(High performance Network Over Coax)comes into being under this kind ofbackground. It is a new EoC(Ethernet over Coax)technology, which utilizes theout-of-band cable resource to provide high accessing rate and many two-wayapplications with the independent innovation as the core. The software development hascompleted basically based on embedded platform and it is necessary to add functions ofnetwork management in HINOC system in order that managers can debug HINOCnetwork from a local or remote computer.In the article, it orients work around the development of driver software of HINOCMAC(Media Access Control). The work includes nodes admission, link maintenanceand network management interface. So first, this paper introduces the reaserchbackground and primary technology of HINOC and primarily focuses on the signalingframe structure, the process of HINOC nodes admission and link maintenance. Secondly,with the IXP435embedded platform provided by HINOC prototype, we designsoftware about nodes admission and link maintenance and relevance modules interface.At last, it researchs SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol), according thisprotocol it designs the interface between HIMAC driver and agent, and last, itintroduces the relationship between application programe and driver in more detail.
