The increasingly fierce competition in the manufacturing makes the companydecision-makers bloated in response to the rapid business development decision-making.The manufacturing decision support system when provides with the help fordecision-making for R&D progress control cannot offer the presentation of R&Dprogress in quantity and in time.And there is too much interference of the subjectivefactors for weights allocation. Therefore, this thesis presents that mining usefuldocuments on product R&D progress from the database and building the task documenttree to achieve the progress calculating and controlling with task weights allocation.Firstly, this thesis focuses on studying the development of decision support systemsfor manufacturing industry and the control of project R&D(research anddevelopment)progress, and expounds to the basic theory of DSS and the method ofprogress control. Based on the characteristics of the current manufacturing information,the industry requirement of progress control is in analysis.Secondly, the weights allocation of R&D tasks and progress control has beenstudied. An improvement weight distribution algorithm is proposed based on empiricaldata for the phenomenon that there is too much interference of the subjective factors forweights allocation. And study the data of the accumulation documents in PDMdatabase, get the useful data information for product R&D progress, and calculate theR&D progress using the task document tree in order to providing data support formanagers to make decisions.At last, an application study is made based on some enterprise R&D project. Thestudy has finished the tasks weight distribution and the progress calculation of R&Dproject. And the analysis is provided for the reasons of program behind to supportmanagers for decision-making.
