On Work Automatic Breakdown In The Manufacturing Decision Support System

Work breakdown is the base of making production schedule, allocating resourcesand budgeting charges in enterprises, which is an indispensable process in the modernproject management. However, without full use of databases, work breakdown has beenproceeded based on artificial experiences, which is time-consuming and can not makesure the integrity of work breakdown. Therefore, this thesis presents the founding partstask library and task formwork according to the product structure. Thereby, workbreakdown can be finished automatically, which can improve the level of informationdevelopment and management.Firstly, this thesis focuses on studying the basic theory of work breakdown, andsummarizing structural features of decision support system and methods, principles andstructure of work breakdown. Based on these, features of work breakdown in discretemanufacturing enterprises have been stated, and the structure and function of enterprisedatabases have been summarized. Then, development environment and designprinciples of the system have been analyzed, and Borland Database Engine has beenstudied.Secondly, a work automatic breakdown system has been designed. According tosystem designprinciples, the general structure and each module’s functionof the systemhave been proposed. Further more, several key techniques have been solved: thegeneration of product tree, parts task library and task formwork. Meanwhile, codes havebeen written, and the feasibility and rationality have been proved by some examples.Finally, the work automatic breakdown system has been developed by using SQLServer and C++Builder. Combination with a manufacturing PDM database, theinformation of database has been showed simply and intuitively, product tree and partstask library have been displayed, and the work automatic breakdown has beenaccomplished, which improve the level of making decisions and management.
