General-purpose CPU is the basis of information industry which is widely used innational security, industrial control, aerospace and other areas. So it is very importantto develop our own general-purpose CPU.As China’s first self-developed general-purpose CPU, loongson ends a history andbegins a new one. The background of this development is based on the latest researchof the loongson64-bit CPU loongson3C.This paper shows the physical design processof the vector control components of loongson3C.The design is mainly applied inSynopsys’s physical design process. First, synthesize the rewrited RTL code by DesignCompiler. When the gate-level netlist meet the requirement, it is the time to carry outthe step of floorplan. By fix the place of register and the16macros, the problem of themodule’s timing and congestion is resolved. Then, expand the clock tree synthesis androuting.Loongson3C CPU is designed for the use of high performance computing andserver applications. With the world’s leading32nm manufacturing process and thestandard EDA design flow, the design will meet The target of a1.25GHz operatingfrequency is and a15W overall power consumption.
