With the rapid development of the wireless network technology and the growthof the number of mobile users, many industries which through the operation of thewireless network is increasingly becoming an emerging market full of vitality.Mobile ad hoc networks is becoming a hotspot as a typical application of wirelesstechnology, which made a lot of research results and has been applied in some areas, but the technology of mobile ad hoc network which for common usage scenarios isstill relatively small. In order to meet the user’s needs for mobile resource sharing, itis very necessary to develop universally applied mobile networking technology. After a brief narration of the current status quo of the development of mobile adhoc networks, this paper points out its deficiencies in the practical application, analysises the possibility of assisting wireless communication with the locationinformation, gives an introduction to the technology of WLAN and GPS which areclosely related to the content above. On the basis of this, a base station-assisted datasharing platform based on location information used mobile ad hoc networks isestablished. The system consists of the server based on PC and the mobile client.Users use the client to send the requests of the resources to the server. The serverfinds out the users who provide the resources by searching the database, gets thesuggestion of transmission of the resources by calculating with the GPS locationinformation provided by the clients. The interaction of the instructions and theconnections of the transmission of the resources are established by WLAN, by usingthese technologies, the users can share resources quickly and easily. This paper analysis the functions and the structure of the system in details, including the overall framework, the design patterns and the architecture. It designsand implements the client based on the Symbian operating system and the serverbased on personal computer, elaborates the method of reducing the time of findingthe link path by using location information. Finally, it does some test and analysis ofthe performance of the system, it shows that the system achieves the goal of datasharing based on location information basically. Moreover, there is10percent reduction compared with the AODV routing algorithm in calculating the time offinding out the path of resource transmission.
